410.5.2 The Institute of Computer Engineering, E191, research unit Parallel Computing, E191-04, at TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (Prae-doc) for 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: 02.11.2020.
- Research and teaching in areas related to Parallel Computing
- Cooperation with and guidance of students
- Research in selected areas of Parallel Computing, contribution to project activities
- Writing your dissertation, publication in relevant scientific fora
- Participation in conferences and events related to Parallel Computing
- Some assistance/collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:
- Completion of a Magister, Master or Diploma curriculum in one of these fields: Theoretical computer science, Practical computer science, Software engineering, Computer architecture/engineering, Mathematics, or related
- Experience in one or more of the following scientific fields: Parallel computing, High-Performance Computing, Computer Architectures, Algorithms and data structures, Software engineering, Experimental computer science, Experimental Algorithmics, Algorithms engineering
- Interest in teaching, willingness to teach, didactic skills
- Very good German and English communication and writing skills
- Strong research interest and focus in the field of Parallel Computing, interest and willingness to supervise and work with students
- Very good communicative skills and team competence

Entry level salary as a predoctoral researcher is covered by level B1 of the Austrian Collective Agreement for university staff, and receives a minimum of currently EUR 2.196,80/month gross, 14 times/year. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
